Project to develop Bung Borapet as tourist attraction spot by PAO.

Background

In 1997, The Fishery Department, Nakornsawan Office, had been granted a budget to develop Bung Prophet for tourism and at the same time conserving marine resource. The place is designated to be near the Marine Life Development Centre. The progress has been as following:-

Phrase 1, at the budget of 29,990,000 Baht, it was used in 1997 doing the followings:-

1. Leveled the ground for 120 rais to be 2 metres higher than the water level of the swamp at the total quantity of 50,000 cubic metres.
2. Dig a canal along with the railroad to protect the rail.
3. Built a tourist service centre.
4. Built a pier.
5. Built 2 toilets.
6. Built a guardhouse.
7. Built 2 car parks at the capacity of 100 cars each.

Phrase 2, at the budget of 10,400,000 Baht, it was spent in 1998, details as following:-

1. Built a concrete road spec 6 metres wide and 1,200 metres long.
2. Built natural pebble beach at the size of 10,000 square metres.
3. Bought a feed pump.
4. Interior design and decoration for the tourist service centre.

Total budget spent for both phrases was 40,390,000 Baht.

The project has yet to be completed, public utility has to be installed. Nakornsawan Administration Office has considered that the PAO has the capacity to do so, thus has given the project to the PAO to complete the remaining since the year 2000.

2005 budget for Bung Borapet tourism.

1. Built fresh water aquarium building at the budget of 201,000,000 Baht.
2. Built OTOP building for North and Central region at the budget of 8,294,000 Baht.
3. Built Northern style guesthouse at the budget of 5,085,000 Baht.

Total budget spent was 238,099,000 Baht.
